Holly studied painting at RMIT in the early 2000’s and has been making her unique style of wearable art for nearly 30 years.
Each creation is an ode to nature, honouring and thanking her for her beauty and existence. Birds, Trees, Leaves and Flowers often feature on the hand painted cameo.
She also like to incorporate small shell fragments collected from close inspection of the shoreline as centre features, akin to precious jewels, inspiring colour ways and the creative process. The bead and wire work has taken inspiration from jewellery collected in India and rosary beads, hence why l sometimes refer to them as ‘nature rosary’. Each unique piece being a prayer to the beautiful natural wonder ground her waterways and skyscapes we are so fortunate to experience.
Each piece is a tiny canvas, and is a very portable art form that l have always found a space to make and dream up where ever I have been.
