About

Charlie Ryan is a contemporary artist and designer, planted on Bunurong / Boon Wurrung Country in the hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, Australia.
His artworks entwine the unbounded connection between nature, selfhood, kinship, and community.
Predominantly portraying formed natural abstracts, the artist likes to tell stories through the metaphors of nature.
Born 1984 in Melbourne, Australia (Wurundjeri, Kulin Nation). A lifetime artist and creative, he was guided at a young age by his father and fellow artist, Gee (Gerald) Ryan, who introduced him to a variety of traditional painting styles, along with a distinct appreciation and love of colour.
Charlie later studied at the renowned Brighton Bay Art, Design and Photography Program in Elwood and the Arts Academy at the University of Ballarat.
Charlie has been involved in a number of solo and joint exhibitions, with his works held in private collections across Australia and internationally.
