At the age of 18, I got my first SLR. It was love at first shot.
I had always felt most comfortable having a camera in my hands. Usually, it was one I’d stolen from my uncle. But now, I had my own. I often feel like my life has been lived through a lens. I pursued dreams of acting, thread spools in a cinema projection room, followed a unicyclist around Australia on his cancer conquest, and worked for Spielberg in Blighty on his film, Ready Player One.
Always in my hand – my trusty camera. Proof that I was there. There is something magical about shooting verité; about sweeping landscapes, and spontaneous moments caught unaware. After more than 2 decades of taking photos all over the world, I feel like I’m finally ready to start.
