Mark is a local artisan working currently in stone and creating works that have lasting connect and timelessness.
‘Hi Cinque‘ was originally carved with a chainsaw out of a dead cherry tree ,”it was situated on a driveway, when thinking of what to carve, I wanted it to be relevant to the situation , so the concept is simple the raised hand is the universal language of welcome , hi im here … it’s a greeting and recognition, on arrival your welcomed“.
I then made a mould of the sculpture and have cast this example in concrete. Its form was inspired by the work of Alberto Giacometti.
